Privacy Notice

We respect your privacy and are committed to maintaining the trust of our visitors. We want you to know that we are not in the business of buying or selling personal information for any purposes. We simply don’t do that sort of thing. In this Privacy Notice, we’ve provided the details of when and why we collect your information, how we use it and how we keep it secure.

SSL

We use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) which is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This secure link ensures that all data transferred remains private. It’s also called TLS (Transport Layer Security). Millions of websites use SSL encryption everyday to secure connections and keep their customer’s data safe from monitoring and tampering. Whilst it’s not a necessity it is best practice.

Website Cookies

Cookies are small files which are stored on your (the user’s) computer. They are designed to hold a modest amount of specific data and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. This allows the server to track use and deliver tailored information to a particular user, or the page itself can contain some script which is aware of the data in the cookie and so is able to carry information from one visit to the website to the next.

We also use:

Google Analytics

When someone visits  janepr.co.uk we use Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Security

With the ongoing threat of hacking, we utilise software on our website that helps us monitor firewall rules, malware signatures and malicious IP addresses in a bid to keep our data safe. Data captured include: IP addresses, location (when known), Time (local timezone), browser type and user agent.

How to turn off cookies

If you do not want to accept these cookies, you can change your browser settings so that cookies are not accepted. If you do this, please be aware that you may lose some functionality of this website.
